Odds Low For Fed To Announce 'Operation Twist'

"The odds of the Fed announcing something in the form of Operation Twist are relatively low, partly because it's unclear how much help it will be," said Nella Gollapudi, fixed-income strategist at Citi. "There may be some disappointment in the market." This means there could be a quick selloff in longer-dated Treasurys to reverse some of the rally of the past few weeks as "Twist" expectations grew. The 30-year bond is leading Monday's rally, up 3 8/32 in price to drag yields down 16bps to 3.181% -- a new 2011 low.
